The iPhone Xs features a Super Retina HD display, OLED Multitouch HDR. The Xs model has a 5.8-inch screen and a resolution of 2,436 × 1,125, with 458 pixels per inch. Apple currently considers it to have the sharpest display, the highest color gamut, and the highest pixel density of any of its devices.

A more water-resistant casing has been achieved, sealed to the millimetre to the stainless steel edge. It is a device resistant to splashes, water and dust, although Apple admits that this resistance is not permanent and can decrease as a result of normal use. It is also determined that it can be submerged up to two metres under water for 30 minutes according to tests carried out under control in a laboratory. The model has obtained an IP68 result according to the IEC 60529 standard (up to 2 metres deep for a maximum of 30 minutes).

The iPhone's security system is now based on facial recognition through a series of mechanisms located at the top of the screen. This facial recognition allows you to unlock the phone, log in to applications or personal accounts and pay using the Apple Pay method. It also has so-called adaptive recognition, which recognises changes in a person's appearance, from growing a beard to putting on sunglasses.
